As we prepare to build and operate two new adult family homes over the next five years, we’re seeking an Executive Director who can turn vision into reality. Background

Olympic Neighbors is seeking an Executive Director to serve as our chief operating officer. Olympic Neighbors is a non-profit organization in Jefferson County, WA, serving adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities since 2018. We accomplish our mission by providing:

  • Safe and supportive housing in adult family homes with 24-hour trained staff

  • Opportunities and encouragement for residents to take part in meaningful activities at home and in the community

  • Collaboration with others to broaden resources for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities

We currently operate one home, with two homes scheduled for construction. We have 8 full-time and part-time staff. Our current annual budget is $600,000. We are financially sound, with primary income sources from state resident reimbursement, grants, and donations.

Compensation Details

Employee Type: Full-time (40+ hours), exempt
Starting Annual Salary Range: $80,200 - $83,000, depending on experience

Reports To: Board of Directors

Central Responsibilities

As the chief operating officer, the executive director is responsible for overseeing all facets of the mission of the organization. Chief among these are:

  • Accomplishment of the strategic imperatives as identified annually together with the board

  • Recruitment, support, and retention of staff

  • Fundraising efforts for the annual operational plan and impending expansion

  • Administrative oversight ensuring compliance with all regulatory and organizational standards

  • Communication and engagement with stakeholders, community, and agencies

Central Qualifications

The successful candidate will likely possess a demonstrated record of the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher

  • Management experience (preferably in the nonprofit sector)

  • Experience with regulatory requirements and funding, or aptitude to master same

  • Experience and proven ability in fundraising and grant-writing

  • Strong interpersonal, team, board, and public communication skills, both verbal and written
